The Ateneo Economics Association, abbreviated as AEA, is the premier economics organization of the Ateneo de Manila University. Under the Analysis and Discourse cluster of the university’s organizations, AEA works to equip its members with both the knowledge and skills to properly advance authentic socio-economic development. Through diverse and timely initiatives that promote nuanced economic discourse or aid in the education of economic literacy, AEA aspires to mold its members into bright and emboldened leaders of tomorrow.
Established in 1960, the Ateneo Economics Association has been immersing its members in social realities and actualizing their potential to embody advocacies for nation-building and inclusive economic growth for more than sixty years.
Valentines in August (VIA) is a 30-year running flagship project of AEA that aims to promote a romantic spirit and highlight the unexpected economics of Valentines. Aside from supporting AEA’s merchandise, Ateneans will be also supporting local florists in their low season.
Learn MoreDevelopment Economics Conference Series (DECA) is AEA’s annual 3-day conference that extends our development economics thrust towards a younger audience specifically high school students from various schools who will learn more about development economics through lectures and contests.
Learn MoreAEAdvocacy Week is a 5-day event featuring different NGOs and their respective advocacies through talks and activities for participants inside and outside the Ateneo community, to raise awareness and provide opportunities to volunteer, intern, and donate to partner organizations.
Learn MoreAEA's yearlong partners provide the organization, members, and external partners a chance to collaborate in helping its projects come to life. It also incentivizes our hard working teams and AEAns, AEA members, who strive to make the org the best it can be.
